Burns

So I got this pretty sweet burn on my hand yesterday at work. I don't feel the need to explain how as it only highlights my...stupidity. Hahaha. Anyways, it hurt really bad but is healing nicely. Thank heaven.

This picture doesn't really do it justice, but it was a nice purple.

Fortunes

Brad and I went to yet another Chinese restaurant in search for good, cheap Chinese food. We're still on the hunt. :/ They did give us these awesome fortunes, though...

The top is mine and the bottom one is Brad's.
He is so obviously a bundle of energy. Hahahaha.
We had a good laugh.

Law school, swimming, chocolate

It's been pretty normal these past two weeks! No fun vacations. Brad started his SECOND YEAR at law school this week, can you believe it? Time has flown! "We" will be done in no time! Brad took his finals out at Eastern for his bachelors last Friday and started law school Monday. Whew! No rest for the weary, I suppose.

Me: Brad, how was your first week at law school?
Brad: It was good. I'm looking forward to some of my classes since they really interest me (like Intellectual Property and Patent Litigation).

He's also been upping his swimming mileage at the gym, which he is proud of. ;)

We went grocery shopping earlier this week and bought a pack of fun-sized Babyruths (they were half off). I should have taken a picture. I looove chocolate and have been craving it lately (then again, when do I not?). So anyways, last night we each had our last one. Tonight has been kind of stressful. I teach the 9-year-olds at church, and I want to do my best. Stressin' me out. Anyways, I was feeling rather down about it all, and Brad came over and gave me a kiss and then turned around and OUT OF NOWHERE he pulls his Babyruth from last night and gave it to me! Isn't that so sweet? He said, "I saved it so you could have it when you were sad." It's love, baby. He knows what I need.

Life is good.

The Garden of Eden

Okay, so it's not REALLY the Garden of Eden. BUT the Relief Society had a Garden Party tonight in one of the MOST beautiful gardens I have ever been to! There were flowers upon flowers and veggies and greenery. It was just gorgeous. And I loved their chicken coop. We want one just like it someday!

Dahlias! Gorgeous colors. They almost made it into my bouquet.

How charming is this little coop?!

They had this awesome swivel gate that could be rearranged. I had no idea I could love gates so much.

Race day!

We woke up bright and early (unforunately, the hotel bed was SO comfortable), had some breakfast and then headed down to the lake for the triathalon. He was on a team with one of our bishopric members and his nephew, and Brad was excited to get started!

In the transition area, I've never seen so many bikes in my life!
Stretchin' for the race!
:)

Off he goes!
Back already

2 legs, down. One to go.
Biker, swimmer, runner
It was a gorgeous day for a triathlon!
Brad swam the 1500 in 28 minutes flat, and the team finished 6 out of 39.
We had such fun, we're already looking forward to next year!

Huckleberries and Cafe Rio

It's that time of the year again! Huckleberry picking! It was a good year, and we had a great time.

Brad was very proud of how many berries he picked!
With that hat on, he looked like a big 10-year-old. I loved it. Haha!

Gorgeous views from the top of the mountain.
We ended our day picking up Brad's wetsuit for his team triathalon tomorrow and spending the night in Coeur d'Alene. We were so excited to be staying in a place with great AC, it took everything we had to stop ourselves from jumping on the bed. We had dinner at the newly opened Cafe Rio. It was the perfect end to such a great day!

Soooo good.

Costco!

We love it. And this ice cream bar.

Look at it in all its chocolatey-almondy goodness...

A night well spent.

Back to WA already

I was SO sad to leave Texas. We were only there for so long but had such a great time. I hope I can see everyone again soon. I'm already looking forward to Hans coming back in two years! Time with family is loud, full of laughter and love and just heaven. I miss you guys! Thanks for flying us down there.

She loves stealing Hans's seat to watch TV. Hahaha.
I'm pretty sure she was eating a kit-kat here, but maybe her mouth was a little full. Haha.
Happy face. :)

She loves Otter Pops!
She moves so fast, it's amazing I ever got a clear picture of her.

Pinochle.

She saw Uncle Brad get his laptop over and was his best friend for the next 10 minutes.

Hilarious picture! Ian was over playing with Ava, and I looked at him and said, "I bet I could fit into your pants." And he was like, "There is no way. Your butt is 7 times bigger than mine." And Mom was like, "You guys should try it. I would die laughing!" So we switched! And what do you know, they fit! We could hardly breathe we were laughing so hard. There you have it folks. We can wear each others' pants.

Ava is Hans's best friend! Hahaha.
Grandma reading "Grandma and Me" to Ava. When Mom read "Grandma," Ava would turn around, point to Mom and say, "Da!" It was pretty dang cute.

My tied-for-first favorite person in the whole world.
Back to WA we go. Brad left his drivers' license at the Spokane airport, but when we called security they said he'd be okay to fly and to just come a couple hours early to get some "extra security clearance." We left earlier than we had wanted, and the extra security consisted of looking at his credit card, school IDs and looking at my license to make sure I was his wife. It took all of 2 minutes. Too bad we came too early and didn't get to stay an extra day!

Gorgeous sky!
Mt. Rainer made for a beautiful picture.
Dead tired at 10:30, waiting for our plane to board. We got home at midnight. We were zombies!

Last minute homework. :)
We miss Texas already.
